This Month's Story
Structure Tone Inc.; OSHA; the Somerset County Building and Construction Trades Council and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development On-Site Consultation Program signed a partnership agreement to provide a safe and healthful work environment during construction of DC1 America’s Data Center in Somerset, New Jersey. The partnership, in particular, will focus on construction industry-related injuries and illnesses such as falls, struck by, trenching and excavation hazards and health hazards associated with exposure to silica during construction activities. The signing of the Partnership document took place on May 4, 2009 at the site. On Tuesday, July 28, 2009 two OSHA inspectors came to the site to perform the verification inspection which is the last required step in the process of Partnership agreement. The inspection is considered a Focus Four, which means they look for fall hazards, electrical, struck by, and caught between hazards. They walked the site with Joanne Kreisberg, the site safety manager, during the inspection there were no recommendations, and no violations issued. Congratulations to the project team which is now entered into our 3 Partnership in New Jersey with OSHA.
